WHY INSTINCT BASKET?
There are hundreds of hairball foods, gels and brushes out there. After a year of studying cat behavior, we created the only cat bed built to catch loose hair before your cat’s tongue does.
✔️ Catches hair before it’s swallowed Hairball food and gels start in the stomach. This starts on the fur.
✔️ Fuzzy rope grabs loose hair Tiny rope fibers grab it every time your cat rolls. No brush, no fight.
✔️ Zigzag stitch adds extra grip Every little thread gives their fur one more thing to rub against. More rub, more loose hair caught.
✔️ Stays firm where soft beds go flat Soft beds only collect hair that already fell. Firm rope rubs it loose, for years.
✔️ Scent brings them back every day They come back daily, so the fuzzy rope and zigzag stitch catch hair daily.
Reduces Hairballs & Protects Health
2 out of 3 hairs your cat sheds get swallowed during grooming. That hair collects in the stomach and clumps into hairballs. That’s the gagging in the middle of the night. The throwing up on the rug. And in bad cases, a blockage that needs a vet. Sadly, you only see the hairball. Never the hair that’s still inside.
That’s why vets tell owners to get loose hair off their cat before the tongue does. The Instinct Basket does it without a brush. The fuzzy rope and zigzag stitch grab loose hair every time your cat rolls. Less loose hair on their fur means less hair swallowed. And less hair swallowed means fewer hairballs and less throwing up. Which is especially important for indoor cats, who can spend even more of their day grooming.
Where Do Hairballs Really Start?
We all know cats get hairballs. But did you know that a hairball doesn’t start in the stomach - it starts as loose hair sitting on your cat’s fur. Hairball food and gels only help after the hair is swallowed. And soft beds squish flat, so they only collect hair that already fell out. The loose hair still on your cat ends up on their tongue.
The Instinct Basket is the first cat bed designed to catch loose hair, not just to look cozy. Natural rope holds your cat’s scent - so they come back to it every day. And every time they roll, the fuzzy rope and zigzag stitch pull loose hair off before they can lick it up.
Less loose hair means less hair swallowed, fewer hairballs, and less throwing up. It also means less hair on your couch, your bed and your clothes. With the Instinct Basket, you’re giving your cat the one thing hairball food can’t - a way to stop the hair before it’s swallowed.

Soak up your cat’s scent so they keep coming back to one spot - the spot where their loose hair gets caught instead of swallowed.
Fuzzy Rope That Grabs Loose Hair
Tiny fibers stick out all over the rope - they grab loose hair the same way your sweater does.
Hair-Locking Zigzag Stitch
A zigzag thread runs across every row - each little stitch hooks the hair so it can’t slide back off.
Handwoven Rope Craftsmanship
Woven to handle claws, kneads, and daily flops - no fraying or flattening, so the loops keep catching hair for years.
Raised Fur-Catching Walls
Cats rub their cheeks and sides along the rim - so the walls pull loose hair from their whole coat, not just their belly.

Benefits of The Instinct Basket
Reduces Hairballs & Protects Their Stomach
According to feline research, 2 out of 3 hairs a cat sheds get swallowed during grooming. Swallowed hair is what clumps into hairballs and can cause a blockage.
Grabs Loose Hair Before It’s Swallowed
Fuzzy rope fibers and a zigzag stitch grab loose hair every time your cat rolls. Unlike soft beds that squish flat, the firm rope rubs it loose - and it holds their scent, so they come back daily.

I almost sent back the new beds but upon your suggestions I just gave it some time. I introduced Loki to his bed in the room he likes best and Thor, his in another room that he favors as well. It took three days and now they love them. See attached picture. Thanks so much.
She is using her basket aka "nail salon" more and more. I showed her what to do, and when I see her using something else, I go back and show her what to do. 10 mins later I will hear her scratching the basket! She is def marking it with her kitty kat pheromones 🐈⬛!
It’s the first bed my cat slept in immediately. She even chose it over the cardboard box she usually prefers. An extra plus, she has stopped scratching the furniture!
My black panther Charlie has claimed this basket for his own. It took about a week and now he sleeps in it every night! It’s next to my pillow. I hear his purring and scratching at it. I’m so happy that he loves it! One of my other cats, Mufasa claims it when Charlie’s not in it! I have another basket I’m trying to get Mufasa to use!
I am delighted with this purchase!!!
I needed a solution for how to ‘share’ my work desk with my cats. An Instinct basket seemed to be a good idea. 2 cats so 2 baskets - not that I wanted both cats on the desk at the same time.
One cat took to the basket immediately and ‘sharing’ is no longer a problem. He even curls up in the basket on the desk when I’m not working.
The other cat was slower to take to this ‘new and suspicious’ object but she really liked the flat scratch mat.
After 2 weeks they both loved the baskets so much that I ordered a 3rd basket and second scratch mat.
Less than 30 mins after unwrapping the scratch mat, Miss fussy was lying on it. Claiming it as hers and playing with the ‘tail’
We love these baskets and the scratch mats!
I bought one for each of my cats but after the first day, they both take turns using the one so for now the second is in the spare room. Maybe I need another cat?!
Mabel loves her basket. She’s not normally interested in most of the toys and thing I’ve bought for her, but she likes to attack the basket, wrestle with it, pull it over on top of her, lounge in it and watch TV from it. Overall, I would say it’s a big hit!
At first Mikey was totally uninterested in the basket and ignored it. But I left it in the living room and he got in it and now he loves it. Gets in it immediately every morning.
My cat took a couple of days to use it! As you can see by the picture he loves it! He has not used it as a scratching post yet, I am hoping that will happen, but he loves to lie in it.
My cat Smalls loves his new bed/scratcher! But he prefers it without the pillow. I haven't seen him use it much to scratch, but he enjoys sleeping and playing in it. Highly recommend!
I have 3 cats and ordered the small basket. My smallest cat claimed it immediately and has marked it as hers. I ordered the large size for my big cat so he can enjoy his own space.
