Freshguard Guide
FreshGuard Guide
👋 Welcome
Thank you for choosing FreshGuard!
FreshGuard is a plant-based odor eliminator that helps keep your litter box smelling fresh by trapping odor at the source instead of masking it with fragrances. It's compatible with all litter types and is safe for both cats and their humans.
This guide will show you how to get the best results and keep your litter box fresher for longer.
📦 Getting Started
For the best odor protection, start with a clean litter box.
1. Empty and clean the litter box.
Remove all old litter and wipe the litter box clean before applying FreshGuard.
2. Create a barrier layer.
Sprinkle a thin, even layer of FreshGuard across the bottom of the empty litter box.
3. Add your litter.
Fill the litter box with your preferred litter as usual.
4. Mix FreshGuard into the litter.
Sprinkle another light layer over the top and gently mix it throughout the litter using your scoop.
5. Scoop daily.
Continue scooping waste as you normally would. FreshGuard works continuously while your cat uses the litter box.
💡 Tips for Best Results
- Always begin with a freshly cleaned litter box.
- Apply both the bottom barrier layer and the mixed-in top layer for maximum odor control.
- Scoop solid waste and clumps daily.
- Reapply FreshGuard whenever you completely replace your litter.
- Store the bottle in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly closed.

🛠️ Troubleshooting
🛠️ Troubleshooting
I'm still noticing some odor.
For the best performance, make sure you've applied FreshGuard correctly:
- Start with a completely clean litter box.
- Add a thin barrier layer underneath the litter.
- Mix another layer evenly throughout the litter.
- Scoop waste daily.
- Replace the litter regularly as recommended for your litter type.
Homes with multiple cats or several litter boxes may require more frequent reapplication.
My cat seems hesitant to use the litter box.
Most cats adjust immediately because FreshGuard is fragrance-free and doesn't change the texture of the litter significantly.
If your cat is cautious around new things, try mixing a smaller amount into the litter initially and gradually increase to the recommended amount during the next litter change.
The odor returned after a while.
FreshGuard works continuously, but its effectiveness naturally decreases as it reaches its odor-absorbing capacity.
If it's been around three weeks, or your litter is due for a complete replacement, it's time to refresh the litter box and apply a new layer of FreshGuard.
Can I use more than the recommended amount?
Yes! Using a little extra won't harm your cat or your litter box. In multi-cat households or homes with particularly strong odors, a slightly more generous application may help extend freshness between litter changes.
